New Delhi : Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde Wednesday condemned the violence in Assam and said the central government had given all help to the state to handle the situation.
Replying to a debate on the ethnic violence in Assam in the Lok Sabha, the minister also urged members not to trade charges over the issue.
“The government strongly condemns the act of depredation in Assam. Leaders from both communities have been asked to intervene” to restore normalcy, Shinde said.
“The central government is providing all possible assistance to the government of Assam,” he added.
