Rajesh and Jayarajan are accused in the murder of Indian Union Muslim League worker Abdul Shukoor.

Rajesh had surrendered before this same court Monday afternoon after his anticipatory bail was dismissed by the Kerala High Court Monday.

Both Rajesh and Jayarajan are lodged in Kannur jail.

Jayarajan was arrested Aug 1 and was earlier remanded till August 14.

Counsel for Rajesh said they will now move the high court with a bail application on Thursday.

Over two dozen people belonging to the CPI(M) and its affiliates have been arrested in the murder of 21-year-old Shukoor. He was allegedly killed in retaliation for an attack by suspected Muslim League workers on Jayarajan and Rajesh.

The Indian Union Muslim League is the second-biggest constituent of the ruling Congress-led United Democratic Front in Kerala.
