New Delhi : Former prime minister and Janata Dal-Secular MP from Hassan in Karnataka H.D. Deve Gowda Wednesday said he was “totally opposed” to FDI in multi-brand retail.
“I am totally opposed to multi-brand retail,” Deve Gowda said while taking part in the debate in the Lok Sabha on FDI in retail
“As a farmer, as a tiller, I know how farmers have suffered due to faulty policies of successive governments. Farmers have been committing suicide because of being under heavy debt. We do not want more trouble to break out for the poor farmers of this country,” Gowda said.
