Aligarh: Prof. Ishtiyaq Ahmad Zilli, Director (Nazim) & Secretary of Darul Musannefin Shibli Academy has gone through a surgery at J.N. Medical College, AMU Aligarh on 12th December 2012.
Surgery was successful and with some initial issues, Prof. Zilli is on a path of recovery, according to Afzal Usmani, who managed Shibli Academy’s website.
Prof. Zilli, who retired from Department of History of Aligarh Muslim University, took over the rein of Darul Musannefin Shibli Academy in March 2008 after the accidental death of the then Director & Secretary Maulana Ziauddin Islahi. In four years Prof. Zilli played a vital role in the revival of the institution. A major administrative and academic overhauling took place in Shibli Academy under his leadership. More than 40 books were published in last 4 years and some of its famous books were reprinted which includes, Seeratun Nabi, Al-Farooq, Rahmat-e-Alam, Seerat-e-Sahaba, etc.
