New Delhi : The CBI has registered cases against 51 people for obtaining jobs on the basis of fake caste certificates during the past three years, parliament was informed Thursday.
“In past three years, the CBI has registered 50 cases against 51 persons on the allegations of getting jobs on the basis of fake caste certificates,” Minister of State in the Prime Minister Office (PMO) V. Narayanasamy said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha.
In 2009, cases were registered against 41 people, 40 of whom have been chargesheeted.
In 2010, nine people were booked, out of which one was released by the court and one person was chargesheeted last year. No case has been registered so far in the current year, it said.
