Reservation notification soon for Jats: Hooda

Chandigarh : Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda Thursday said a notification will soon be issued soon to provide reservation to five communities, including the Jats, under the special backward communities category.

Hooda gave the assurance to a delegation of Jat Arakshan Sangharsh Samiti, who met him in New Delhi Thursday, a spokesman said here.

Hooda said the notification would include reservation in jobs for the Jats, Jat Sikh, Bishnoi, Ror and Tyagi communities.

He said that like Jat community, other communities like Rajputs, Brahmans and Baniyas are also seeking reservation in jobs.

“To consider their demands, the Haryana government has formed a sub-committee of ministers. The sub-committee will finalise its recommendations and after that, a notification will be issued,” Hooda said.

The samiti president, O.P. Sindhu said Hooda also assured to pursue the matter of reservation for Jats under OBC (other backward classes) quota in central government jobs.
