Shimla : Even as his party Thursday won the Himachal Pradesh polls, Congress legislator Gangu Ram Musafir, who won seven times consecutively since 1982, lost to a BJP candidate.
Suresh Kashyap defeated former speaker Musafir by 2,625 votes in the Pachhad constituency. In the last polls five years ago, Musafir had defeated Kashyap by over 1,700 votes.
In the 2003 polls, Musafir had won by a margin of 1,300 votes.
