Over 100 people, including women and students, claiming to be supporters of the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), took out the march around 7.30 p.m. They were stopped by police a few metres short of Gandhi’s residence.

The protesters were wearing caps inscribing ‘Mujhe janlokpal Chahiye (We want Janlokpal)’.

“The march was peaceful. Police personnel were already present at 10 Janpath with barricades to stop the people,” said a police officer.

The protesters later sat on the road holding candles in their hands, and also placed some lit candles on the road.

A protester told IANS that police took some of the protesters inside a bus forcibly but released them later.

After half an hour, the protesters headed towards India Gate.
