In a statement issued here, Karunanidhi said the murder of a school girl after a rape bid on her shows the worsening law and order situation in the state and the AIADMK government should take responsibility for this.

He said the party would hold protest Wednesday outside the Tuticorin collector’s office.

The girl was murdered Thursday after a rape bid.

Police Saturday arrested 36-year-old C.Subbiah in this connection.
