Chandigarh : Night temperatures across Haryana and Punjab rose marginally Friday affording some relief to the people. In Chandigarh though, the minimum temperature was still two degrees below normal at 5.6 degrees Celsius.
Amritsar was the coldest city in Punjab at 1.8 degrees Celsius — four degrees below normal. It was 0.4 degree Celsius Thursday.
Narnaul in Haryana recorded 1.5 degrees Celsius Friday morning (six degrees below normal). It was at minus 0.5 degree Celsius the previous day. Narnaul is still the coldest city in Haryana.
According to met officials, the next two days will be sunny with mist or haze during mornings and evenings.
“The cold conditions will continue for the next 48 hours as an after-affect of snowfall in the Himalayas. After two days, there are chances of rain,” informed Chandigarh meteorological department director Surender Paul.
