T. Peter, president of the Kerala Swatantra Matsya Thozhilali Federation, told here that the fishermen would hold protests in Kochi, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram Tuesday.

“At Kochi, our members will surround the Italian vessel, now berthed in the sea,” he said.

Italian Marines Latorre Massimillano and Salvatore Girone were arrested by the Kerala Police Sunday and charged with murder. They shot dead the two Indians Feb 15, thinking they were pirates.

Protesters say the captain of the vessel, who has not been arrested, was equally culpable.

“The arrest of the captain of the ship is a must and at no cost should the ship be released,” Peter said.

“We also demand adequate compensation for the families of the victims,” he added.
