The demonstrations took place in more than 25 places, CPI-M spokesman Gautam Das told reporters.

He said after the Trinamool Congress took power in West Bengal in May last year, 58 Left Front leaders and workers had been murdered.

Former legislator Pradip Tah and party colleague Kamal Gayen were lynched in West Bengal’s Burdwan district Wednesday allegedly by Trinamool activists.
