Textiles Minister P. Shankar Rao met Pratibha Patil, who is on a southern sojourn here, and demanded action against those involved in the Dec 20 attack on him.

Accompanied by Dalit leader Manda Krishna Madiga, Shankar Rao told the president that Home Minister P. Sabita Indra Reddy is responsible for the attack.

Shankar Rao alleged that the conspirators behind the attack were yet to be arrested by police.

The minister had come under attack at NTR Nagar allegedly by the followers of the home minister and her son on Dec 20. His car was damaged in the incident.

The incident took place when Shankar Rao was visiting a piece of land, which is said to be the bone of contention between the home minister’s son and another person.

Shankar Rao has already urged Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy to dismiss the home minister.
