Bihar engineering student traced in Mumbai ATS custody

Mumbai: After 4 days of struggle, Abdul Wahab Umar, 22, student of Swami Parmananda College of Engineering, Mohali (Punjab), who was picked up by the Maharashtra ATS has been located on Thursday in Kala Chowki police station in South Mumbai. ATS had been denying his arrest officially.

Aftab, brother of Abdul Wahab, who has a workshop in Mumbai told TwoCircles.net that “Finally we got to see him today. Maharashtra ATS has sent him to Kala Chowki Police station, South Mumbai and finally around 2.00 pm we met him.”

He also informed that “Abdul Wahab is fine and will be presented in the court on 10th of January, 2012.”

Meanwhile, today a meeting of Anjuman Bashindgaane Bihar took place to look into the matter. Mehmood Hasan Hakimi, President of Anjuman Bashindgaane Bihar told, “We came to know about the issue through Media reports and had a meeting today.” He questioned, “Why Engineers and doctors are picked up?” he termed the police attitude as “worse than that of British who occupied India.”

He also informed TCN, “We are going to meet Rakesh Maria, Chief of Maharashtra Anti Terrorist Squad tomorrow and are hopeful of a positive result.”
