Hyderabad: After Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh police and even NIA, Andhra Pradesh police is also set to demand the custody of Syed Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jundal who was deported from Saudi Arabia and arrested by Delhi Police at IGI airport.
Syed Zabiuddin Ansari resident of Beed district is being presumed by Indian intelligence agencies as the Indian connection to 26/11 attack, and he was allegedly present in the Karachi control room giving instructions to the Mumbai attackers in Hindi.
What made AP police interested in this case is between the conversations between Mumbai attackers a man speaking some Hindi words, asked them to pose themselves as resident of Hyderabad Deccan, and belonged to the organization called Deccan mujahedeen. What made it more interesting is, that man also gave the name of the area Toli Chowki a Muslim dominated suburb in Hyderabad and instructed those 26/11 attackers to present themselves as residents of Toli Chowki locality.
Now as Indian intelligence agencies are claiming that man who was giving instructions to Mumbai attackers from Karachi in fluent Hindi is Syed Zabiuddin Ansari, AP police want to interrogate him to know his relation with the city and his contacts here in Hyderabad.
Local media here is reporting that AP police counter intelligence cell have now started investigating how many times Zabiuddin visited city as a SIMI member, how much time he spent in Hyderabad and what were his local contacts here.
Few years back AP Police arrested a noted illegal arms dealer Syed Mujeeb Ahmed from the same locality of Toli Chowki in Hyderabad. After the arrest during interrogation he also claimed to be the commander of same fictitious organization called Deccan mujahedeen. AP police is now trying to look for connections between these two different incidents.
Local media is reporting that a team of AP counter intelligence cell is expected to fly to Delhi soon to interrogate Zabiuddin to find out more about his contacts in Hyderabad and his relation with other wanted people from the city who are taking refuge in Saudi Arabia. After this episode fresh round of arresting is expected in Hyderabad.
