Osama Hasan, a resident of Kanpur was caught Tuesday while Faiyaz Akbar, hailing from Bihar’s East Champaran and Ahmad Saami, from Patna, were caught Thursday, the varsity said.

The trio appeared for the selection interview but paid impostors to give their written exam that had taken place in May 2012.

Ajit Singh, a resident of Delhi who gave the written exam on Akbar’s behalf was caught too, but the two other impostors are still at large.

“Saami confessed that the impersonator was arranged by a Patna-based consultancy, “Admission Providers” for Rs.5 lakh while Hasan’s impostor too belonged to his home town,” said the varsity in a statement.

The results of all these candidates were cancelled and they were handed over to the Delhi Police through the proctor.

As per Jamia, the deception was revealed when the interview committee observed the admit cards and the photographs were not matching with the candidates.
