Islamabad : At least 13 Pakistani soldiers were killed Monday in a cross-border attack launched by militants from Afghanistan. Of the total, seven were found beheaded.
The attack took place in Lower Dir region in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Geo News reported.
Following the attack, Pakistan summoned the Afghan Charge d’affaires to the Foreign Office in Islamabad, and lodged a strong protest.
Military officials said six Pakistani soldiers were killed and 11 went missing after the militants fired two rockets into Lower Dir. Later, seven of the 11 missing soldiers were found decapitated.
