SIO demands West Bengal govt. not to hold recruitment exam in Ramadan

Kolkata: A four-member delegation headed by Sarwar Hossain, President of Students Islamic Organization of West Bengal met with Chairman of School Service Commission Dr. Chittaranjan Mandal and Chairman of Madrasa Service Commission Prof. Abdur Rauf on 26th June, 2012 at Kolkata and appealed to them to change the date of the Teacher recruitment Examination. The School Service Commission and Madrasa Service Commission are holding the exam on 29th July, 2012 for schools and high madrasa respectively.

SIO State President Sarwar Hossain said, they discussed with the SSC & MSC chairmen about the exam date. The delegation placed their demand to select the Exam dater after the holy month of Ramadan which is likely to start on 19th July as Muslim students will be in fasting around 15 hours and it will be hard on them to travel to far areas for exam centres.

Both Chairman of SSC and MSC, however, did not assure them to change date, but they talked to higher officials in this regards, said Sarwar Hossain. SIO delegation team submitted to them a memorandum also. State Joint Secretary of SIO Masiur Rahman, State Assistant Public Relation Secretary Sujauddin Ahmed, State Office Secretary Jiaul Islam were other members of the delegation.
