Two Italians held in Pakistan

Islamabad : Two Italian nationals were Saturday detained for taking photographs of sensitive places in Pakistan’s garrison city of Rawalpindi, police said.

Apollo Nacolia and Sermon Fabreco work as engineers at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Islamabad, police told Online news agency.

They were released after initial interrogation by police and intelligence agencies.

Nacolia and Fabreco had arrived in Islamabad Feb 28 following a call from the Aga Khan Foundation to repair one of its helicopters.

The Italians told police that they were on a holiday to Rawalpindi.

After confirmation from the Italian embassy, they were allowed to go.
