She also said the resignation of Marwah, who is also the parliamentary secretary to the chief minister, would not affect the party’s image in civic polls slated for April 15.

“He (Marwah) rang me up in the morning and said that he will send in his resignation,” Dikshit told IANS.

Dikshit said she was unaware of the issue.

“I got to know about this issue in newspapers today… I was not aware of it at all,” said Dikshit, denying any effect on the party prospects in the ensuing civic polls.

“Why would it affect the party before MCD elections. In fact, he has resigned and it was his family affair,” she said.

Delhi BJP president Vijendra Gupta had Monday charged Marwah with getting his daughter admitted in Bachelor of Arts course in Mata Sundari College in July 2011 by submitting “forged” marks-sheet of higher secondary examination of Madhya Pradesh State Open School, Bhopal.

Gupta had charged Dikshit with shielding Marwah and demanded her resignation too.
