New Delhi : The Royal Bhutan Army chief, Major General Batoo Tshering, is in India on a five-day visit to explore further expansion of defence ties between the South Asian giant and the Himalayan kingdom.
Tshering, designated the Chief Operating Officer of the Bhutanese army, met his Indian counterpart General V.K. Singh and other senior officers on his arrival in the national capital.
During the meeting, he discussed matters of mutual interest, an Indian Army release said here.
Tshering also met Defence Minister A.K. Antony.
On Thursday, the Bhutanese army chief will visit Tiruvananthapuram and Chennai on Friday.
He will review the passing out parade at the Indian Army’s Officers Training Academy at Chennai.
India and Bhutan share good military relations with many officers and men of the Bhutanese army getting trained in India.
