Lucknow: Azamgarh will be well represented in the new government of Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has inducted two party MLAs from Azamgarh in his Council of Ministers – one is cabinet minister and another state minister.
Yadav took oath of office along with his 47 members team on Thursday. There are 19 cabinet ministers and 28 state ministers.
Senior party member Durga Prasad Yadav who has won Azamgarh town seat has been given cabinet rank. Another minister from Azamgarh is Waseem Ahmed. Ahmed who has won Gopalpur seat in Azamgarh district has been made state minister.
Samajwadi Party has won 9 out of 10 seats of Azamgarh in this assembly election. Three of 9 SP winners are Muslims.
