Mumbai : An eight-member Pakistani judicial commission, that was in Mumbai to investigate the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, has completed its probe and has left for New Delhi, a police official said here Monday.
“They have left for Delhi this evening,” the official said.
The team is likely to fly to Karachi, Pakistan Tuesday.
The commission arrived here Thursday afternoon to record statements of several key officials connected with the probe into the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
They recorded the statements of Ramesh Mahale, an investigating officer, and (Mrs.) R.V. Sawant Waghule, the chief metropolitan magistrate who had recorded the confessional statement of the lone surviving Pakistani gunman, Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab.
Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam, who directed the trial in the case resulting in award of death penalty to Kasab, assisted the Pakistan judicial commission in its work in Mumbai.
Headed by Special Public Prosecutors Zulfikar Ali Chaudhari and Mohd. Azhar Choudhary, the commission included Khwaja Haris, Fakhar Hayat, Riyaz Akram Choudhary, Raja Ahsanullah Khan, Isam Bin Haris and Azad Khan.
The 26/11 carnage saw 166 Indians and foreigners being massacred and many more injured.
