The Ghaziabad Bar Association said it was ending its protest after a criminal case was registered against the Employment Exchange clerk who was trapped by former bar association president Nahar Singh Yadav.

Work in Ghaziabad courts was crippled for three days after lawyers went on strike when police registered a case against Yadav and others.

“The bar had to take the harsh step because the police were biased,” Bar Association president Bhartendu Sharma said.

Yadav alleged that job seekers were being forced to cough up between Rs.30 to Rs.300 to get themselves registered as job seekers.
