Shimla : Ten people were killed and property worth Rs.55 was damaged in the recent heavy snowfall in Himachal Pradesh, Public Works Minister Gulab Singh said Wednesday.
The minister told the assembly that heavy to moderate snowfall was reported from various parts of the state. Nine deaths took place in Chamba district and one person died in Shimla.
The minister said Rs.45.50 crore had been allocated for the affected people and Rs.10 crore for restoration works.
The last monsoon claimed 39 lives in the hill state.
