Sibal had made these promises in his speech at 31st general session of Jamiat Ulema held at Ram Lila ground here in Delhi on 19th May 2012. Sibal had also talked about establishment of occupational training centres in the minority concentrated areas and creation of job opportunities for Urdu graduates.

Jamiat leaders heaped praise on Sibal for amendment in RTE to exclude madrasas and his recent direction to Delhi government to treat Muslim students as a “disadvantaged group” for admission in schools under the 25% economically weaker section quota mandated by the RTE.

“We would also like to draw your attention to the urgent need for establishment of quality education schools in minority concentrated areas along with upgrading the existing schools in such areas,” Jamiat leaders said in the memorandum to HRD minister.
