This was disclosed in a statement from the office of London Mayor Boris Johnson Wednesday.

The London mayor met ministers and officials of the Andhra Pradesh government during a visit here as he led a 22-member British trade delegation to India.

Johnson said he was fascinated by infrastructure development works in Hyderabad, and took a keen interest in the Hyderabad Metro Rail project.

The London mayor’s discussions with officials in Hyderabad lasted an hour, and covered issues related to infrastructure, including new ports and airport, tourism and economic growth.

“We enjoyed fruitful discussions on a range of subjects and around projects where our Indian hosts are actively looking for London’s investment and expertise. Areas like water purification and treatment, traffic management systems, the Metro, and hub transport connectivity,” a statement from the London mayor’s office said, quoting the mayor.

“They even have ambitious plans that would mirror London attractions like the Eye and Madame Tussauds,” the mayor said, according to the statement.
