Abu Dhabi: The UAE’s non-oil foreign trade rose by 17.3 billion dirhams to 320.3 billion dirhams (about $87 billion) in the first four months of this year.
The figure was 303 billion dirhams in the corresponding period last year.
Exports during the January-April period grew by 33 percent from 35.1 billion dirhams to 46.9 billion dirhams, while re-exports hit 64.4 billion dirhams during the period.
The foreign trade hit about 31.8 million tonnes in January-April, including 17.5 million tonnes in imports, 11.2 million tonnes in exports and 3.1 million tonnes in re-exports.
The daily average weight of consignments (exported, imported and re-exported) processed by different customs outlets hit about 132 thousand tonnes per day.
