New Delhi: Popular Front of India is organising a month long national campaign to ‘introduce’ and popularise the party and its agendas. The programme began from October 10.
PFI further plans to expose, what it calls the “scandalous propaganda” against the organization.
PFI sqauds will try to reach out to people across the country throughout the month, and convene neighburhood meets.
The distribution of introductory folders and exhibiting wall posters have been started in different states in regional languages such as English, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Manipuri, Marathi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam.
The state committees of the organisation have planned series of vehicle caravans and corner meetings that are expected to cover one million towns and villages. Three mega programmes, namely Equity Conference will be held in Kerala at Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Calicut.
Major conferences will be held in Tamil Nadu at Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai. Karnataka state committee has planned peoples’ conferences at Bangalore, Gulbarga, Mysore and Mangalore. A regional conference is planned at Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh. Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan is expected to witness a major state level programme, the National Unity Conference.
Other state committees are also planning similar public programmes. Marking the conclusion of the campaign, social and human rights activists and community leaders from various states will join in a Peoples’ Solidarity Convention at New Delhi.
PFI is “spearheading the empowerment of the weaker and downtrodden sections of the society” the press statement of the party points out.
The campaign will also focus on the release of illegally detained under-trial prisoners and the repeal of anti-people black laws like UAPA.
