BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman expressed dissatisfaction over the probe ordered by the Haryana government into the “legality of actions taken by its officials” following the row over transfer of Ashok Khemka, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, who had ordered a probe into the Vadra’s land dealings.

Sitharaman said the probe by the Haryana government was being done by “hand-picked” officers. She said late evening transfer of Khemka Oct 11 had raised a lot of questions and that “uncomfortable officers” were being shifted out.

The BJP spokesperson said Vadra had not uttered a word in his defence following fresh revelations over his land deals, and claimed that Congress leaders also were not showing their initial enthusiasm in defending him.

“We are worried about evidential matter…it may get removed. The entire documentary evidence in the matter should be seized…There should be free and fair investigation of Mr Vadra and DLF,” Sitharaman said, and added that the probe should also look into the way the officer has been shifted.
