“Since Durga Puja, I and my son Suvendu have been getting threatening calls by unknown people. Today, I lodged a police complaint asking them to probe the matter,” the MP from Contai in East Midnapore district told IANS.

However, Sishir Adhikari’s son Suvendu Adhikari denied having filed any police complaint.

“I’m used to such threats and so far my knowledge is concerned, I’ve not filed any police complaint,” Suvendu Adhikari, an MP from Tamluk in East Midnapore, told IANS.

East Midnapore Superintendent of Police Sukesh Jain too denied any such complaint has been filed and later refused to comment.

“I have nothing to say on this issue,” said Jain.

Sishir Adhikari was the union minister of state for rural development before resigning following the Trinamool Congress’ withdrawal of support from the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government.
