SJVNL declares Rs.388.84 crore dividend

Shimla: Power utility Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd (SJVNL) has declared a Rs.388.84 crore dividend for the last fiscal, the company said here Tuesday.

Addressing the annual general meeting, chairman and managing director R.P. Singh said the company earned a net profit after tax of Rs.1,068.68 crore during the last fiscal against Rs.912.13 crore in the previous year.

He said SJVNL’s maiden hydropower project, the 1,500 MW Nathpa-Jhakri hydropower project in Kinnaur district, achieved a record generation of 7610.26 million units in the last fiscal against the target of 6,900 million units.

SJVNL’s 412 MW Rampur hydro-electric project in Shimla district is scheduled to be commissioned in September 2013.

SJVNL is a joint venture between the central and the Himachal Pradesh government. The former held a 74.5 per cent stake, while the remaining 25.5 per cent is held by the state government.
