While condemning the Sunday’s attacks Martin Kobler, the UN secretary-general’s special representative for Iraq, also expressed condolences to all those who suffered the loss of a loved one and wished a speedy recovery to those who were wounded, reported Xinhua quoting UN spokesperson Farhan Haq in a news briefing here.

“The secretary-general shared the views of his special representative,” Haq said. Ban Ki-moon is presently on a visit to Switzerland.

On Sunday, a series of bomb and gunfire attacks across Iraq during day and night killed a total of 85 people and wounded over 370 others, in what appeared to be an attempt by insurgent groups to destabilise the Middle East country and undermine confidence in the Iraqi government.
