Lucknow: On the occasion of the 4th anniversary of the Batla House encounter, a group of civil rights activists from Uttar Pradesh are holding a daylong convention on 19th September in Lucknow to press their demand for judicial probe into the shootout which claimed lives of two Azamgarh youths and a Delhi police officer on 19th September in 2008 at Batla House area of Jamia Nagar in New Delhi.
Entitled as “Convention Against the Communalism of Congress, Samajwadi Party and Intelligence Agencies”, the convention will be organized from 11:30 am to 3 pm at UP Press Club in Lucknow by Forum for the Release of Innocents Imprisoned in the Name of Terrorism.
The group has put 8 demands related to victims of counterterrorism policies. They are:
1. Immediate issue of a White Paper on Indian Mujahideen by Government of India
2. Judicial enquiry in the Batla House Fake Encounter and suspicious death of Qateel Siddiquee in Pune’s Yarwada jail
3. Immediately bring Faseeh Mahmood back to India, who had been abducted in Saudi Arabia by the Indian Intelligence agencies
4. The SP government must immediately make public, the report of the R.D. Nimesh Investigation committee, over false arrests of Tariq Kazmi and Khalid Mujahid
5. The SP Government must fulfill its promise to release innocent Muslim youth imprisoned in the name of terrorism
6. Immediately stop sending police officials to terror-spreading countries like Israel and US for training
7. Mulayam Singh clear his stand on riots that have happened under the SP government and the role ministers and party leaders played
8. Immediately Release journalist S.M.A. Kazmi and Matiurrahman
