Srinagar : Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, chairman of the moderate Hurriyat group, Sunday left for New Delhi on way to Geneva to attend the 21st International Human Rights Conference, an aide said.
“The Mirwaiz would raise the issue of unmarked graves in Kashmir at the conference and also highlight the conditions of prisoners languishing in various jails without trial,” Shahid-ul-Islam, the Mirwaiz’s secretary, told IANS.
He also said the Mirwaiz would also participate in symposia and seminars on torture and human rights violations in Kashmir during his trip to Geneva.
