Kolkata : The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will keep supporting the Congress-led governments both in New Delhi and Maharashtra, NCP chief Sharad Pawar said Wednesday.
“We will continue to give support to the central government as well as the Maharashtra government. There is no question of withdrawal (of support),” Pawar told reporters here.
A political crisis has gripped Maharashtra after Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar of NCP resigned, and 19 other NCP ministers also tendered their resignations to state NCP chief Madhukar Pichad.
A meeting of the NCP Wednesday resolved that Sharad Pawar, uncle of Ajit Pawar, will decide on the resignation letters during a visit to Mumbai Friday.
