New Delhi : A Delhi court Tuesday extended by three days the police custody of realtor Nitesh Bhardwaj, son of billionaire BSP leader Deepak Bhardwaj, arrested for allegedly killing his father.
Co-accused lawyer Baljeet Singh Shehrawat was also sent back to police custody for interrogation till April 19.
Metropolitan Magistrate Prashant Sharma extended the custody of the two, who were presented after the expiry of their six-day police custody.
The investigating officer told the court that the custody of the accused was needed to confront them with facts that emerged during the probe.
The source of money allegedly paid for the contract killing was also to be ascertained, the officer said.
Raids were to be carried out in search of absconding co-accused and self-styled godman Pratibhanand.
Nitesh, 36, Bhardwaj’s younger son, was arrested April 9 for his father’s March 26 murder at a Delhi farmhouse. Shehrawat, 51, was also arrested the same day.
