Omar’s chopper makes emergency landing

Jammu : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s helicopter had to make an emergency landing a few minutes after taking off from the state’s Kishtwar town as it developed a technical snag, officials said.

“The state government helicopter carrying the chief minister, minister of state for home and other senior National Conference leaders, made an emergency landing back five-seven minutes after it took off,” said an official source in Kishtwar, about 200 km northeast of Jammu.

Abdullah had gone to Kishtwar to address a public meeting.

According to the source, everyone was safe and that the chief minister later left for Jammu by road.
