Muggy Saturday in Delhi, more rain expected Sunday

    New Delhi: Parts of Delhi received rains Saturday but the weather remained muggy with the maximum temperature settling a notch above average at 34.9 degrees Celsius. The Met office has forecast more rain on Sunday.

    The city received a total of 4.6 mm of rainfall from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

    “The skies will be cloudy tomorrow (Sunday) and some parts will get rain,” said an official of the India Metrological Department (IMD).

    The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 34 and 26 degrees Celsius.

    Saturday’s minimum temperature was a notch below average at 25 degrees Celsius while the maximum humidity settled at 97 percent.

    Since the onset of the monsoon in June, the city has recorded 511 mm of rain, 38 percent more than the average.

    Friday’s maximum temperature settled three notches below average at 30.8 degrees Celsius, and the minimum was a notch below average at 25.8 degrees Celsius.
