Sonia Gandhi was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the capital Monday night, after she complained of uneasiness in the Lok Sabha. Her son Rahul Gandhi and union minister Kumari Selja accompanied her in the car to the hospital.

“Considering her health, Sonia ji should have been taken to hospital in a well-equipped ambulance. Still, doctors are best judges,” the Gujarat chief minister tweeted.

Modi further tweeted: “Concerned that basic medical emergency procedures were not used. Would have been better if wheelchair or stretcher were used in parliament.”

He also wished Sonia Gandhi the best of health for the future and that he was glad to know that her health was fine.

The United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson was discharged from the hospital around 1.30 a.m. Tuesday after undergoing several tests.
