Kolkata : Virtually donning the robe of a teacher, West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee Monday dictated a list of her government’s successes to student leaders of her party, asking them to memorise it.
Telling them to take the message to the masses, she warned that she would conduct a test to check their grasping power.
Didi, as Banerjee is popularly known, asked the young leaders to collect copies of her new Bengali book “Ek palake, ek jhalake” in which she has given details of her government’s performance.
“Take down what I am saying. You must learn by heart the success stories of our government. You have to reach out to the people and tell them all these,” she said at a workshop.
“A one-sided propaganda campaign is going on against us. You have to get all these people clean bowled,” she said at the Netaji Indoor Stadium.
When she noticed some audience were not taking down notes, she said: “You are not writing. I will test your memory, remember.”
She asked them go from door to door ahead of the panchayat polls to convey the party’s message.
