New Delhi: Khudai khidmatgar organized a national consultation and planning meeting to discuss the socio-political and economic issues of Muslims in the capital.
Participants from across the country attended the consultation programme. Dr Ghulam Rasool from Jammu and Kashmir, Moulana Mohammed Ahamed from Haryana, Noor Nawaz Khan, Hasan Abdullah, Shehanaaz Behan, Mohammed Tanweer from Delhi, Moulana Fateh Mohammed from Uttarakhand, Dr. Abdul Majid, Hafeez Qidwai, Kamar Jahan, Razia Banu from Uttar Pradesh, Kalimullah from Bihar, Yaqub Qureshi, Farzana Begum from Rajasthan, Danish Qureshi from Gujarat, Advocate Ehtisham Hashmi from Madhya Pradesh, Zulaikha Jabee from Chhattisgarh, Iftekhar Hussain from West Bengal, Dr. Mohammed Ajmal from Tamil Nadu, Moulana Abdul Qadir Qasmi and Mohammed Farooq from Puducherry attended and discussed the problems of minorities on various issues on their concern states.

Khudai Khidmatgar leader Faisal Khan, in his statement in the meeting, focused the need of National Minority Summit and said that it is unfortunate that the minority right issues are limited to papers, even after after the nation’s pride standing of independence for more than 65 years.
He highlighted how every political party has its own agenda concerning minorities and even civil society members do not seem to work towards a common goal. “The main reason behind it appears to be of the failure of the concerned people and agencies of coming on a common minimum programme,” he said.
The minority community has the potential, but differences are hindering the whole process he said. There is an absence of a common ground that may pave a path for a common minimum agenda for development, he said.

They are hence planning a National Minority Summit where all those people who are actively working in the field of Minority affairs across the nation on the grass-root level will come together to “discuss a strong agenda and adopt a set goal for future activism.”
They also plan to monitor the government schemes for bringing more transparency in minority welfare schemes.
The broad issues concerning minorities which they discussed and agreed to work together included 1.Committee for upliftment on the status of minority education, 2. Economic empowerment of minorities, 3. Rights based awareness of minorities, 4. Political and state security of minorities, 5. Committee to discuss the religious based issues of minorities, 6. Mobilization committee for proposed national summit.
