Panaji : After the brutal Delhi gang-rape, Goa Police Monday launched a media drive to encourage women to file complaints against sexual harassment.
Deputy Inspector General of Police O.P. Mishra told reporters here that a women’s helpline has been relaunched and every police station would have women personnel who would handle cases in which women are victims.
The 24-hour helpline number is 1091.
“A policewoman would be accessible on the number every minute,” Mishra said.
“Every woman victim deserves a patient hearing at the police station by the reporting officer, a quick response and a follow-up on her complaint so that her trust and confidence in law enforcement agency is not lost,” Mishra said.
