The two accused have been arrested, police said Friday.

“Falguni Sahni was stabbed with a pair of scissors, while her daughter Chetna was smothered to death at a factory in which clothes were stitched and knitted,” a police officer said. The incident occurred at Block-A of Bindapur in south Delhi.

Police said the 34-year-old husband of the woman, Aasit Sahni, was critically injured in the attack and admitted to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital.

The two arrested in connection with the attack were identified as Gurdeep, the owner of the factory, and Rehman Malik, a police officer said.

“The victims lived in Karol Bagh in central Delhi. The family had a property dispute with Gurdeep, and on the night of the incident, they had come to the factory in Bindapur for talks on the issue,” Additional Commissioner of police A.K. Ojha told IANS.

“Gurdeep’s factory is being run in rented premises,” a police officer said, adding that investigations were on.
