Omar inductes 10 ministers

Jammu : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Tuesday inductd 10 ministers and dropped seven from his cabinet

Governor N.N. Vohra administered the oath of office to former National Conference ministers Ajay Sadhotra, Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan, Saifullah Mir, Nazir Gurezi, Sajjad Kichloo and Feroz Khan, among others. Assembly speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone was also included in the ministry.

Ghulam Ahmad Mir, Majid Wani and Waqar Rasool from the Congress coalition partner also got ministerial portfolios.

With this expansion, the number of the council of ministers has gone up to 25, including the chief minister.

While Sadhotra is from the legislative council, the others are from the legislative assembly. Six of them are cabinet ministers, three ministers of state with independent charge and one minister of state.

Abdullah had forwarded the resignations of six National Conference ministers and one from the Congress. The governor accepted the resignations with immediate effect.

The state government Tuesday nominated Kafeel-ul-Rehman, a legislator from, Karnah as the vice-chairman of the Advisory Board for the Development of Pahari Speaking People. He will be a minister of state.

Radhay Sham Sharma, a legislator from Nowshera, was appointed vice-chairman of the Advisory Board for the Development of Kisans in the state. Sharma would also be a minister of state.
