“The government in Jharkhand has always been ‘Aya Ram Gaya Ram’ but still president’s rule is no alternative. The governor must explore ways to find an elected government,” Lalu Prasad said here.

Lalu Prasad – whose Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has five legislators in Jharkhand – said he would support any secular party which comes forward to stake claim.

“Though no party has come forward, if a secular party is willing to stake claim (to form the government), we will support it,” Lalu Prasad said.

“All the stakeholders must sit and explore ways to find a new government. But if that is not possible, then there is no option but to impose president’s rule,” he added.

The union cabinet Thursday decided to recommend president’s rule in Jharkhand, where no party has staked claim to form the government after Arjun Munda resigned as chief minister following the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha withdrawing its support.
