Patna:The delegates of Sir Syed Minority Foundation of India (SSMFI) lead by its General Secretary Md Perwez Siddiqui met Lok Janshakti Party supremo and former union minister Ramvilash Paswan on 17 July in Patna and discussed the matter relating to minority status of the Aligarh Muslim University.
Former union minister has promised to raise the issue of restoration of minority character of AMU. Mr.Perwez told that Former union minister has always supported this issue and had also previously raised the issue for development of medical college of AMU.
The President of SSMFI Shamsul Rahman discussed with the former union minister regarding the 1981 AMU Act.
Ramvilash paswan after the meeting retrieated that AMU is a minority institution and assured to raise the issue in monsoon session in the parliament.
