New Delhi: BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain, whose Iftar is attended by leaders across the political spectrum, has decided not to host a party this year in view of the loss of life in Uttarakhand and the death of school children in Bihar.
Hussain told IANS he would not host a party this year in view of the huge loss of life due to floods in Uttarakhand and the death of 23 children due to contaminated mid-day meals at a school in Bihar’s Saran district July 16.
The Iftar party hosted by Hussain has been attended by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the past.
Hussain, a former union minister, is a Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Bhagalpur in Bihar.
