“One of the officials, Sreejith Nair, is a criminal lawyer by profession and the Alappuzha district secretary of the KCA. The other represents the district (Ernakulam) from which Sreesanth hails,” KCA secretary T.C. Mathew told IANS.

The officials are on a fact-finding mission, as Sreesanth has claimed that he has been trapped and is innocent.

The visit comes as Kerala has dropped Sreesanth from the official advertisement for Kerala Lotteries. His employer Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited has suspended him from his job as an assistant manager.

Sreesanth was picked up by Delhi Police May 16 from Mumbai, on allegations of spot fixing in the India Premier League tournament.

He has been in custody of the police and is now in Tihar jail.

Sreesanth, one of only two men from Kerala ever to have been on the national cricket team, has played in 27 Tests (87 wickets), 53 ODIs (75) and 10 T20Is (seven wickets).
