Panaji : A Russian woman has accused a Goa businessman of raping her and duping her of thousands of dollars under the pretext of marriage, police said Wednesday.
Sub-inspector Mangesh Volvoikar said the 26-year-old victim accused Sunil Kumar, a real estate developer, of having consensual sex with her on several occasions after promising her marriage.
“She said in her complaint that Kumar fraudulently induced her to invest several thousand dollars over months in a real estate development project,” the official said.
The cheating case has been registered, police said.
